The vision of Equipping Alaska is to pursue unity, leadership development, and growth among the churches of Christ in Alaska. We are primarily focused on equipping congregations around the state for the work of ministry. In a state with a population of about 730,000 people, there are ~ 17 congregations in Alaska. Due to the size of the state, many of these congregations are spread out and isolated.

We are happy to support this work and specifically support Jeff and Amber Smith as they work in Alaska.

Before moving back to Alaska for full-time mission work, Jeff preached at the Coopertown Church of Christ from September 2018 to January 2023. He is a graduate of the Adventures in Missions program (AIM), spending two years in South Africa, and Freed-Hardeman University (B.A., Biblical Studies & Missions; M.Div.). He is currently working on his D.Min degree with Harding School of Theology.

Amber holds a degree in French from Oregon State and a nursing degree from Freed-Hardeman University. They first met as students at Freed-Hardeman University and married in December, 2015. They have two beautiful daughters, Patsy and Rosemary.
